Anyone that knows me knows I am a MASSive fan of the Mass Effect universe ^__^
I know. I know. “Go home dad, you’re drunk”…
The trilogy came into my life at a time when I personally needed it and now I’m very excited about Andromeda- but not without some obvious reservations and concerns. Time will tell what type of game this will be. Though in my heart, I will always and forever be a Commander Shepard ♡ ♡ ♡
Anyway, as long as my PC can play the game I’m going to be heavily preoccupied; I’ve been going through a tremendous amount of stress lately and I could really use a break.
Enjoy!!
I am also a big Mass Effect fan; I started with ME2 and eventually got ME1 on a sale; then jumped as soon as ME3 came out. I wasn't as upset at the 3-choice ending as most claimed to be; the entire series was essentially a series of choices with three possible answers: Paragon, Renegade, Milk-toast. I never expected any final choices to be different. The only thing I did find frustrating was requiring us to spend 200 hours in immersion-breaking multiplayer in order to get the most of an ending that explained almost nothing.
I WAS really hyped on Andromeda until all the negative press started coming out with the youtube videos showing how badly animated the game was; so I've completely avoided it. I thing BioWare made a major mistake when they convinced the entire ME staff to quit after ME3 started to backlash and then gave Andromeda to a team that only knew how to take a finished product and build a multiplayer shooter out of it. I have the "Paragon Lost" animated movie and most of the books including the one they are going to ret-con because of fan hatred. I can see why; the writer finished a story arc by killing off first the hero who was trying to save somebody; and then killed the person he was trying to save just to prove that a villain was villainous.
I like your idea of transposing characters into the ME universe. I'm currently playing with a piece that pairs up an Asari biotic-commando with a Zabrak Jedi. If you do or have played Andromeda you'll have to give me some feedback; maybe I'll take another look at it.
